I have spent 8 years working in specialty coffee with the majority of that time spent at ECR where I have worked as Head of Coffee for the past 3 years. Prior to this I (like everyone else!) worked as a barista. My first introduction to the specialty sector was while working with Stumptown Coffee roasters in a cafe in Vancouver. Whilst there, roastery visits and intensive training kickstarted my career in an industry I hadn't known existed before. In the last few years my particular motivation has become sensory development which has led to obtaining my Q certification. 

Favourite cup of coffee - The first of the day, before I have to start thinking too much, usually a great Colombian filter coffee - the Veracruz farm (the first I visited) in Antioquia would be the ultimate. Vibrant fruit, but good rounded body and sweetness too.
