The time has finally come to complete their chai latte range with a real golden latte. Indian grandmothers have been using this golden magic potion to make all kinds of ailments disappear for centuries.

Be warned, Chalo's new golden boy is not for the faint-hearted, not just any old milk, no, vegan all the way. Passion, ablaze with masses of turmeric, black tea, cassia (cinnamon), and a spark of black pepper.

Chalo's Golden Chai is based on Jaggery—a natural cane sugar packed with minerals and vitamins. It is not unusual for clumping to occur in golden chai. The combination of the two natural main ingredients of this power drink, turmeric and jaggery, can cause clumping, as turmeric contains a very high level of active substances, which promotes clumping.

Jaggery, a cane sugar originating from India, is also prone to clumping. Because the centrifugation process during cane sugar production is shorter than for other types of sugar, a thin layer of dark brown syrup (molasses) remains, giving it a light brown/yellow color. This molasses causes the sugar granules to stick together more and form clumps. However, the lumps in the instant powder of the golden chai fall apart when you stir it with a fork or dissolve the instant powder in warm water.

We therefore definitely recommend opening the package and tasting this golden magic potion.
You will see that the clumping does not affect the delicious taste.
